  • The Great Divide Mountain Bike Route (GDMBR) is a route from Banff, Canada to Antelope Wells, New Mexico, traveling 2,700 miles along mostly gravel and dirt roads. When Glen’s neighbor proposed bikepacking 900 miles of it from the Canadian border to Jackson, Wyoming, Glen had to apply his hard-won lessons in ultralight backpacking to bikepacking. Since the last time he camped on a bike was when he rode 4200 miles across the U.S. in 1976, he had a lot of catchup to do before departure.
